On November 28, 1987, the USCGC Duane (WHEC-31) was intentionally sunk as an artificial reef off the coast of Key Largo, Florida—becoming the Upper Keys most challenging wreck dive site. Unlike the USCGC Duane (WHEC-33) which sunk perfectly upright the previous day, the Bibb settled on the ocean floor on her starboard side—in deeper water.
For nearly 40 years, divers have traveled from all over the world to experience and explore a truly amazing wreck dive.
Bibb: A Diver's Guide takes you 23 fathoms below the surface—immersing you in the world of wreck diving. Drawing on years of experience diving the Bibb and using his custom-designed deck plans, Jared Bronson guides you through diving Key Largo's most challenging wreck, providing you with detailed information, both recreational and technical.
Dive into this in-depth guide for one of the most remarkable wreck dives of your life!
